Willup Hall

A story of optimism, resilience, and hope by the people left at home during World War 11. A young girl with reading disabilities and lacking in confidence takes on the running of Willup Hall and the estate farms. She successfully increases food production for the people in Britain during the period of rationing and supplies the RAF with food for their canteens. She opens up Willup Hall to be a place of rest and recuperation for RAF personnel suffering from 'Burn Out' or any injuries they may have received. She agrees to take war evacuee children fleeing from the bombing in the cities and gives them a loving, secure home in the country. She then agrees to help refugees fleeing from Europe and let them live on her parents estate during the war. She and her Grandmother are Sponsors for Jewish children in need of coming to Britain to escape the Nazis invasion in Europe. It is a story of fortitude, determination in difficult times during World War 11. There is heartbreak, sadness in France.
