Frances Knox has been subcontracted to inspect the Lake Secession Dam located in Abbeville County, South Carolina. He is a certified diver and inspecting the integrity of dams and other water structures is his specialty. This dive impacts his profession and integrity as he encounters something in the depths of the lake that has no place in his world. Frances refuses to finish the job he was contracted to do. His reputation as a diver and as someone sane takes a direct hit. The once fisherman's paradise has gone south, hardly anyone catching anything worth bragging about. This and a series of drownings and disappearances on the lake make the locals think the lake is suddenly cursed. There are no logical explanations. Toss logic out the window. There are forces far greater at work than something a logical person can fathom. Somebody needs to do something to solve it. Unlikely allies join forces to do just that come hell or high water. Readers will experience landmarks and venues in and around Abbeville County but the characters, the plot and unraveling events are purely fictional about the town that the author was born and raised in. T. Allen Winn still resides in South Carolina on the Grand Strand, but Abbeville will forever be his home.
