Since girlhood, seventeen-year-old, aspiring detective Kori Lawton has been fascinated by the Church of Wheel of Fire and its raging bonfires that light the night sky near her home in California's San Joaquin Valley. When Kori attempts to free another teen girl, Flicker, from the doomsday cult, she falls under the hypnotic spell of its enigmatic leader, Promus, as he plots his deadly scheme.
