Understanding SALVATION in Plain English

As a pastor, missionary, and Bible College teacher, I have discovered that most books on theology have been written in language which is beyond the reach of the average believer. These books contain treasures. But those treasures are locked away and guarded by difficult, technical terms, and the hard words of "high English." Language should reveal truth, not obscure it. The problem becomes especially evident among people for whom English is a second language (ESL). In addition, even English speakers who are new to the faith often find the technical language and difficult concepts of most theology books to be a mountain too high to climb. They may wonder if it is even worth the effort. Understanding SALVATION in Plain English is an attempt to communicate the biblical and theological truths of the doctrine of salvation in language which is more easily understood. This is done without sacrificing the deeper truths or the difficult questions. Jesus taught in a way that the average person could understand. Perhaps we have a lot to learn from His example.
