"Psalm 139:5 has one of the most beautiful images in all of Scripture hidden in it. This verse says that God goes before us, walks behind us, and is upon us. New Testament theology would add that the Holy Spirit dwells within us. Taken together, we are quite literally surrounded by God in all our circumstances. God goes before us, walking peace and his presence into situations. God follows behind with his grace and wipes away the full effects of any mistakes we may have. God is upon us, which serves as a powerful reminder of the promise Jesus gives us to never leave us as orphans in the world. God is within us and is committed to staying within us regardless of what may come. There will be stories-mine and other people's stories-of people who have found hope in God in their daily lives, their victories, and their struggles. Throughout Trekking toward Tenacity, there will be some exegesis of the words found in Scripture, but the emphasis in this book will be on finding the best applications of what we read for our everyday lives. Even more specifically, this book will emphasize how we can turn these beautiful ideas from the Bible into practical parenting concepts that will empower our children to be both resilient and mentally healthy"--
