Dear Reader; Anthony Williams first published book "The Struggle to Stay Free: Thoughts of a Prisoner" is an in-depth view of how it is in the penitentiary. In the joint there is a lot of talent and pain. Trying to keep living in between thoughts of wanting to die! Some were convicted of the crimes they committed. Souls tortured from the pain they caused others, while at the same time, being unjustly over sentenced for their crime! "Lord take my hand," is a cry for help when hope is lost . It feels like absolutely nothing is in your control. Being given orders from sunup to sundown . Day after day, year after year. Your faith can be strong or eroded like a piece of metal on the bottom of the sea. Some have the strength to come out shining like a diamond, or broken down and mentally destroyed, calcified for life!!! Institutionalized with post-traumatic stress syndrome (PTSD). Now as a free man, trying to adapt to the same society that holds things against you for life, and you wonder why I struggle to choose to live !!! Sincerely, Suicide
