Detlef Schwartz, born 1954, is a Lutheran pastor and faculty member – in Germany, in the United States as well as in Latin America. In his new book he presents the idea that grace is a process that constitutes the vision of a world filled with love and mercy. The basis of his theological thinking is the connection between religion and culture as it has been developed by Paul Tillich. The idea that justice and peace go together he has drawn from liberation theologians like Leonardo Boff and Jon Sobrino.
