Yet, this same God gave His only Son to save those very ones who declared themselves His enemies. Jesus was more than willing to leave His exalted place in Heaven and sacrifice Himself for those who hated Him. He would do this to save even just one soul from the darkness surrounding them. This is the God that the author fell in love with! This is the God who would pursue each of us to the very gates of hell. And this is the God who gave both holy life and holy blood that we might be saved into His kingdom! Like the warrior, King David, who sang the praises of the One he called "the God of Mercy," Francis Green uses his passion for poetry to celebrate his love for this God who saves all who are willing to accept that precious gift. It will be indeed, only by the mercy of God, that any of us "enter into the joy" of our Lord! It is to that God of Mercy and His glorious Son that this collection of devotional poetry is prayerfully offered.
