Brodon, Brote's most powerful son, stands in her way, ready to reveal her blasphemous secret. Making matters worse, she prematurely gives birth and confronts Brodon with a newborn infant in her arms. Vyas must place a strand of Crevahn's hair around Naro's sleeping dais. First, he has to track down a Naron human that is able to hide in shadows and has vowed to kill Vyas. Then, he has to travel to Night City with his lover Selva, where Naro's most powerful daughter, Naria, awaits. Selva discovers Vyas's affair with Naria and it threatens to tear them apart when Crevahn needs them to help her save the world.
