Companies with a self-commitment to sustainability should reassess their business processes and redesign them in such a way that the dimensions of ecology and social responsibility come into their own more effectively and on a par with the di-mension of economy. These companies take sustainability into consideration and at the same time their competitiveness. While aspects of economic efficiency have been measured, monitored and controlled in companies with key figures for dec-ades, the dimensions of ecology and social responsibility often fall by the wayside or are only tracked qualitatively. Existing tools and methods are often difficult to use for companies. Therefore, a comparison with other companies is almost impossible. It would help companies if they could work with relevant and standardized key fig-ures for the other two dimensions of sustainability as well. This dissertation develops a tool for measuring and displaying corporate sustaina-bility. Based on uniform criteria, a comprehensive sustainability performance is to be determined, which also enables a comparison with other companies. The author develops a life cycle-oriented sustainability scorecard to record quantitative and qualitative key figures and to visualize the results in an integrative sustainability tri-angle.
