Survival Kit. Managing Multilateral Projects in the Lifelong Learning Programme

Getting involved in a Multilateral Project financed by the European Union’ s Lifelong Learning Programme or another type of European co-operation is not a perilous adventure better to be avoided, as, at first glance, the title Survival Kit may suggest. But many project actors will agree that the management of such projects poses multiple challenges: - The project must be soundly planned and constantly re-planned - A special project organisation must be established - Comprehensive administrative and reporting regulations of the EU funding programme must be complied with - Intercultural differences and pitfalls have to be dealt with - An effective project team has to be formed out of a diverse group of people - Virtual communication and collaboration through ICT tools have to be facilitated to bridge the distance between project partners - Project activities have to be thoroughly evaluated to ensure high quality - And project results need to be effectively disseminated and exploited to create a lasting impact on the field concerned. The Survival Kit provides support in meeting these challenges. It consists of two parts: - Guidance publication - Collection of project management tools: templates, examples and resources like partner agreements, planning forms, reporting sheets, checklists, or tools for evaluation and dissemination.
