After emerging as an autonomous discipline in the late 1970s, cognitive science has since become a prominent interdisciplinary, scientific discipline for studying the mind and its processes, integrating research and theories from diverse fields such as linguistics, psychology, artificial intelligence, philosophy, neuroscience, and anthropology.
