Diese Arbeit untersucht den Beitrag von Social Software zur Verringerung kommunikationsbedingter Innovationsbarrieren. Gegenstand waren Entwicklungsprojekte eines multinationalen Unternehmens. Eine Soziale Netzwerkanalyse und eine fragebogenbasierte Studie zeigten, dass die Anwendung der Software zu keiner signifikanten Verringerung von Innovationsbarrieren führt. Als Ursache konnte empirisch eine unzureichende funktionale Passung und Diffusion der Software identifiziert werden. This study assesses the contribution of social software to reduce communication-based innovation barriers. Subject of the examination were global product development projects of a multinational company. By performing a social network analysis and a survey-based inquiry no evidence was found social software could reduce innovation barriers. An empirical investigation exposed a lack of functional fit and diffusion of the social software.
