Jim Taylor is an average guy whose hearing has been deteriorating for some time. After his hearing loss causes him to nearly step in front of a train, he is fitted for hearing aids. Five years later when he decides to replace his hearing aids, Jim has no idea he is about to be led down a dark path he never imagined. When he finds a brochure advertising hearing aids at half price, Jim receives new hearing aids from a man who looks like a cross between a ghost and a mad scientist. After he is instructed not to remove them for twenty-four hours, Jim leaves without realizing that his hearing aids now allow the sinister doctor to control his every movement. When he discovers he has unknowingly killed a prominent politician, Jim sets out on a determined quest to clear his name. Now as the lives of his family members hang precariously in the balance and the police in hot pursuit, he must seek help from an unexpected source.
