Tension grew between father and son when Jeff expressed his distrust of Barker and refused to stay on the ranch and work under Barker. John threatens to sell the ranch if Jeff cares so little for it that he won't stay. Jeff leaves and John sells the ranch to Barker. On his way home from the sale, John is ambushed. Barker has Jeff arrested for the murder and takes possession of the ranch. Things look bad for Jeff until strange things start happening in his favor and a mysterious man dressed in red appears to be responsible.
