Dr. Brigadier Umar Sattar (Ph.D., National Defence University, Egypt) holds a distinguished academic and professional background in the field of strategic and security studies. He earned his M.Phil in War Studies and achieved the unique distinction of completing his Ph.D. in National Strategy with grade "Distinction" from the National Defence University, Egypt. With a diverse career in the Pakistan Army, he has held multiple command, staff, and instructional appointments and has also served in United Nations Peacekeeping Missions abroad. Married and a proud father of four daughters and one son, Dr. Sattar is widely regarded as a staunch proponent of two foundational principles within the domain of national strategy: 1¿ Addressing the root causes of terrorism permanently, rather than merely fighting its symptoms, a theme extensively explored in this book. 2¿ Achieving victory without conflict through the optimization of deterrence, a concept elaborated in his forthcoming work, "Win Without Fight." His present book, "Securing the Future: Means to End All Terrorism Means," distinguishes between legitimate freedom struggles and what defines the 21st-century security challenge-terrorism.
