POEMS FOR CHILDREN TO ENJOY

This collection of poems is ideal for the primary classroom as it covers seasonal topics such as Harvest, Halloween, Guy Fawkes Night, Christmas, Pancake Day, Easter and many others. Eleanor McLeod is from Swansea, Wales and it was when she began her Primary School teaching career in 1966 that she started writing poems for her pupils. When she decided to change direction and become a professional actress she continued to write poems, stories and dramatic monologues. In 1984 after the birth of her son, she returned to the classroom where all the old favourites and many new ones were tried and enjoyed once again. As a teacher of the LAMDA Speech and Drama syllabus and a member of the LAMDA Examining board and a adjudicator for the British and International Federation of Festivals she realises how welcome and useful a collection of poems like this will be to teachers and performers.
