Malocclusion is a condition that results in a misalignment between the teeth and the two dental arches when they approach each other when the jaw closes. Malocclusion can be divided into three types - class 1 is netrocclussion, class 2 is distocclussion and class 3 is mesiocclusion. Class 1 netrocclussion is a condition where the molar relationship of the occlusion is normal but the other teeth have problems like spacing, crowding and under eruption. Class 2 distocclussion is a condition where the mesiobuccal cusp of the upper first molar is anterior with the mesiobuccal groove of the lower first molar.
