Founded by entrepreneur Mario Vento, its staff included such notable figures as Gianfranco Fini, Fabrizio Cocchia, Gianni Colombo and Giuseppe Ravasio. After only two years, in 1971, NewLamp was awarded the Europremio for furniture design. Over the course of more than 15 years, Paolo Borromeo d'Adda has worked to uncover NewLamp's complex and clandestine history, revealing the secrets and speculations that have surrounded the firm for 50 years. The product of his research is this definitive catalogue raisonné, showcasing all of NewLamp's product designs accompanied by preliminary sketches, advertisements and a thorough suite of specifications including all dimensions, the electrical configuration of each lamp, its original price and its present-day valuation.
