Medical Imaging

Medical imaging refers to the different techniques used to visualize the interior of the body, and the functioning of some organs and tissues, in order to diagnose, monitor and treat diseases. X-ray radiography, X-ray computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are the primary types of medical imaging techniques. X-ray radiography is a type of imaging technique, in which X-rays and gamma rays are used for imaging. A computed tomography scan comprises of a computer-processed combination of X-ray measurements, taken from many different angles. This generates tomographic images of the area that requires examination. The imaging technique involving the use of radiology to form detailed pictures of the anatomy and bodily functions is called magnetic resonance imaging.
