It discusses local experiences; and the realities of the effects of liberalisation in the light of conventional globalist perspectives; and considers in particular water reform. The second part of the book covers the management of trans-boundary natural resources in Zimbabwe and the SADC region; and the impact of global developments on the region. It discusses present international frameworks within which common property resources must be managed; and reflects on the future for common property in Zimbabwe.
