Produktinformationen "HIV-AIDS, In India and Developing Countries"
AIDS is a socioeconomic and human rights issue, and societal inequities increase HIV vulnerability. Dr. Yanamadala Murali Krishna has been tirelessly battling AIDS for over 25 years. While pursuing his MD, he foresaw AIDS becoming a major problem in India. Through various media, he raised awareness among the Telugu-speaking population. In 2000, he started Andhra Pradesh's first HIV clinic in Kakinada, and made treatment accessible to the under- privileged. Dr. Yanamadala's research on HIV and TB was featured in Medscape Journal's proceedings of the 13th International AIDS Conference in 2000. He has been treating newly diagnosed HIV patients with two-drug combinations, in place of the standard three-drug therapy. His abstract on this was presented at an international conference in 2004. The 2022 HIV treatment guidelines now include two-drug combination therapy. Beyond AIDS, Dr. Yanamadala has been providing insights on COVID-19 and post- COVID cardiac issues to the Telugu community. "A meticulously researched, authoritative examination of the HIV-AIDS epidemic with particular focus on India and developing nations. Dr. Krishna masterfully weaves scientific information with real-world applications while emphasizing practical prevention strategies and treatment protocols for resource-limited settings. An essential guide for healthcare professionals and policymakers involved in the global fight against HIV." -- Journal of the Indian Medical Association, November, 2024
