The book is designed for those seeking to gain exposure to agencies, obtain experience with various populations, learn about the helping profession, and become familiar with a multitude of systems focused on assisting people in need. In addition to teaching, Dr. Cole develops curriculum for the Mental Health Work Certificate Program and serves on numerous helping profession advisory boards. She provides clinical supervision to military drug and alcohol counselors, conducts forensic psychological evaluations, and volunteers with the Red Cross Disaster Mental Health Team.
