The viewer is thrust into the role of the voyeur as the unique binding style of this book requires an act of unfolding in order to reveal its darkness. GO COWBOYS takes as its starting point Bruce Nauman's quote, demanding that “Art should be like getting hit in the face with a baseball bat.” Due to its implicated cynicism regarding executions, the title for the book “GO COWBOYS” was inspired by the final statement of Jesse Joe Hernandez, who received lethal injection by the State of Texas on March 28, 2012 in Huntsville.
