As a part of the South-South Cooperation both developing countries currently intensify their economic cooperation in a non-exploiting manner for their mutual benefit . The thesis will provide a deeper understanding of the African continent. Furthermore it will give a description about development strategies, currently applied on Africa. The thesis will continue by providing Information about Africäs past and present economic performance, including the major constraints for African development. In the final part an outlook for Africäs future will be described by creating a scenario analysis as well as a development roadmap for an individual country. The thesis will conclude with a table ranking all Eastern African countries according to selected business criteria.
