In 2024, when Donald Trump chose him as his VP in the run-up to the presidential election, it sparked backlash on the web with women commenting "Never been more proud to be a childless cat lady!" Then followed Taylor Swift's statement post on Instagram to her 283 million fans: "I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election.
