A poetic exploration of Ariel "Arik" Sharon might sound counterintuitive, like an oxymoron. And true, much of the monologue that Atar Hadari presents us with reads more like spoken history - yet with a deliberate creative twist. Like poetry, these vignettes about Sharon's military career and private milestones may not answer all the questions a reader might have. But, like poetry, they stir up emotions, push buttons, confirm - or maybe shake up - opinions and beliefs as they sketch a rich and agitating portrait of a divisive and contentious figure in Israeli politics.
