Joe Carr, born in poverty to an abusive alcoholic father, was considered trash by the town's people. To escape from the law, he joined the Marine Corp in San Diego, California. A year later, he and a friend found themselves in a fight for survival on the Japanese's island of Iwo Jima. His true character was revealed, and he received the Congressional Medal of Honor. It was the beginning of a new life for Joe Carr. What he later accomplished in life was no less that incredible.
